The 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Drywall Screwdriver (model XSF03Z, tool only, batteries and charger sold separately) breaks new ground for drywall contractors. It's powered by a Makita brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. With the exclusive Push Drive Technology, the 18V Drywall Screwdriver can be set on lock-on mode so the motor starts only when the fastener is engaged. This gives contractors a quieter work environment, and also saves on battery power. It's built for added durability with Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), which is engineered for improved dust and water resistance for operation in harsh job site conditions. It is ideal for hanging sheetrock, metal framing, installing subfloors, backer board, and decking applications.18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Drywall Screwdriver, Tool Only

Only one problem..

This gun is totally awesome. The push drive function is really super cool, good job guys. Lightweight and long run time. Unfortunately it has one problem. The clutch does not engage soon enough. This causes two problems. First if you drive a screw in and for some reason miss or need to take it out, the clutch will not engage when you are set to the proper depth. Also in drywall there is the need to sometimes grind in screws to get the to the right depth. This gun won’t do that because of the clutch. Corded guns and other cordless such as the DeWalt will. Makes it a real pain in the a** to use, I hope they fix it. Have to take the cone off every time you want to remove a screw.
I’m selling my corded guns

Great tool. Great power and runtime. Great ergos. Feels right in the hand. Love the light. Very versatile with the options of normal and push drive. I will never need my corded guns again.
I really wanted to like it…
I really wanted to like this tool as I am a big fan of makita and own probably over 30 different makita tools including a bunch of the LXT line which I use everyday. This tool really let me down.

This tool is light and comfortable. The “Push Drive” technology allows for fast, quiet fastening. It exceeded my expectations.
I’m a everyday drywaller and use this gun all day it’s very light weight and powerful just like the corded one. I love this gun. Good grip very comfortable in the hand not to heavy and powerful what more can you ask for.
A great addition to my stable of 10

A great addition to my stable of 10, 18V Makita tools. Balanced, powerfull. Belt hooks well planned, can hang on workbelt or back pocket of my jeans. Excellent adjunct to my battery powered, collated drills
