Makita’s 7.2V Lithium-Ion cordless driver-drill kit with auto-stop clutch delivers convenience and precision drilling and driving power to torque-specific assembly applications. The DF012DSE combines the ultra-compact design of a cordless screwdriver with 21 clutch settings and an auto-stop clutch for extra fastening control. The DF012DSE is powered by a Makita-built motor that delivers 71 in.Lbs. Of max torque in drilling mode. The 2-speed gear selection offers 200 RPM and 650 RPM for low or high speed applications. The 21 clutch settings offer a range of fastening torque, from 32 in. Lbs. In clutch setting #1 to 50 in. Lbs. In #21. For added precision and control, the auto-stop clutch shuts off the tool when the clutch disengages and helps prevent over-driving on the fastener. For extra versatility, the tool will operate in straight or pistol grip positions. The DF012DSE weighs just 1.2 lbs. With a more compact design at only 10-3/4” long (in-line) and 8-5/8” long (pistol), with an ergonomic shape that fits like a glove for reduced operator fatigue. It is also equipped with a built-in L.E.D. Work light operated by a separate switch on the opposite side of the rocker, and provides illumination for more accurate work. The DF012DSE also includes a low battery indicator: the L.E.D. Light blinks when the battery needs to be recharged. The switch drive Lock prevents Active discharge in the case when not in use, and allows the tool to be a screwdriver in Lock position. The DF012DSE delivers versatile power combined with a compact design, dual position handle, and precision clutch settings for torque-specific assembly work.
THIS IS WHAT A PEN DRIVER SHOULD BE!
If you need a small compact pen driver with power to spare, this is the best choice. I have the Panasonic 3.6V pen driver and it has been my work horse for the last five years. Although expensive right now, it certainly is the best choice for driving those occasional stubborn screws. It has twice the torque of the previous generation and the electronic clutch works just as good as my other driver. It’s built to last, very high quality just like the Panasonic.
Expensive & difficult to justify purchase, but once in hand – a real pleasure to use & own
Simple and very powerful. Battery seems to last forever, and charging time is extremely short and without the high heat associated with older battery technology. Battery charger is probably significantly more sophisticated than it’s small footprint would give an impression of.
Not happy with this drill out of the box
Not happy with this drill out of the box. I believe it is defective. It seams to be over clutched. Would not back out a 3/8″ long screw out of a microwave oven fan conversion, even in full on drill mode. You can stop the bit with your fingers!
Makita Pen Driver Kit
This is an awesome tool and they’re getting harder to come by. The price was great and fast shipping.
I use at work saves me time…..
For professional users, this will outlast the Hitachi 5 to 1
I own the previous version of this tool, and it’s basically the same except for a slightly revised shape of the housing. I have had it for seven years and I use it almost every day at my work. I bought the Hitachi cordless screwdriver and it died after two years. I also bought the Panasonic version and it has only has the power of this Makita. In my professional opinion this is the best cordless screwdriver you can buy.
