High quality tool, excellent performance
I purchased this tool to drill through joists in my attic and basement to run replacement electrical cable. It works great! The right angle head helps you get into narrow spaces (my joists are 3-4″ wide, but barely 16″ on center, leaving me not much room to get a drill in there). It has good torque … the drill instructions warn you about making sure to firmly grip the side handle (which I highly recommend), but frankly, this thing bores so smoothly and evenly through the joists, I have never had a problem with it binding or stopping and twisting my wrists. I wasn’t sure if I really needed this tool, but having purchased it and used it several times, I am very happy to bought it. It’s a high quality tool.
CAUTION: product is advertised as "variable speed" but you …
CAUTION: product is advertised as “variable speed” but you can only vary the speed by completely removing and reversing the right-hand attachment versus a trigger that can be partially-depressed for lower speed jobs or, suffer the thought, an actual dial or switch to change speeds. If you’re looking for a variable speed drill, look elsewhere.
A great tool for the jobox.
The perfect tool for many jobs around the house. This tool is tough enough to be used on a construction site. Expensive, yes. But it just works with no worry about broken gear boxes or handles. Just be sure to brace yourself properly or it might break your arm if the bit binds up.
Handles the toughest jobs with less damage to the knuckles.
There is a little less handle orientation adjustment than Makita however this thing is a whole lot tougher than the Makita. It’s a brute that I am very happy to have. Works as expected of a Dewalt. I want to buy another chuck so I can rapidly switch between angled and straight.
Not as powerful as I thought but gets the job done
Wrist breaking power, hold tight. Not sure why you would need more drill. Never stalled it even running 3.5 inch forstner bits or 4 inch concrete coring bits.
Used it to drill 3/4 inch holes in Old Barn timbers 6×8 oak. Never slowed down. Plenty of power.
DeWalt, professional grade
Cuts holes through wood without hesitation. Clean bores, light weight but still feels solid. Excellent product. Swivel head lets you get into hard spots.
Powerful and sturdy.
Great tool. Bought it refurbished and it performs like new. Very strong and sturdy with robust carrying case. With good wood boring bits, this drill plows right through the floor and wall joists. Bought it from CPO via Amazon and I recieved it in two days in the middle of Christmas rush. Wow!
Already had one for 20 yrs excellent for mixing drywall mud an thinset
