Customer Reviews

Performance not comparable to price!

TIP: Here’s a little tip for all you reviewers out there: Put the product through its paces prior to writing a review. I can’t tell you how many reviews I’ve had to sift through only to find that the reviewer has just received & opened the box minutes prior to a 15 page diatribe that provides absolutely no helpful information other than it shipped & arrived on time. NEWS FLASH: If you have Amazon Prime, it’s going to ship & arrive on time. That tidbit provides no one with anything other than assurance they’ll receive an item on time that may be or may not be a quality purchase.

The best drill I’ve ever gotten my hands on. Cordless or otherwise!

There are certain tools that everyone should have in order to complete basic repairs and tasks. I consider a cordless drill to be in this category, because with a good set of drill bits, and a screwdriver attachment, you can do just about anything basic you need to mount things (amongst other more complicated tasks).

good batteries; drill quality ok

So, after 10 years the NiMH batteries for my 18volt drill up and died on me. I had one of the large kits (flashlight, circular saw, recip saw, drill), and was not thrilled about replacing everything. I was also not thrilled about buying more nickel batteries- I wanted the lithium-ion.

Other battery works just fine though. I would recommend cycling each battery in …

Had this drill for a few years now. Used it for handyman house projects and some masonry. Only complaint is one of the batteries died about a year ago, but I’m sure that’s from my lack of using it. I only used one of the batteries for the most part and had it die on me in the middle of a project. I tried to use the other one which was of course dead and found that it wouldn’t even charge. Other battery works just fine though. I would recommend cycling each battery in and out of use regularly. Replacements are expensive.

Best cordless drill I have ever purchased

Purchased this drill and batteries set in 2013. I have used it to construct over 300 feet of wooden fencing, install framing for a roof over a very large deck and the roof roof panels over the deck. I also take it camping to raise and lower the extra long stabilizers I have due to a high lift on the trailer. And also for any and all general repairs or building in and around the house.

great tool

I use this all the time ! The hard plastic box it came with is a nice bonus (it fits an extra battery and a box of drill bits). This is my go-to tool for all the work around the house. It’s compact enough that it fits in a lot of tight places (inside narrow cupboards for example).

Good power drill

I ordered this Dewalt cordless power drill as I wanted a reliable power drill for just occasional use around the house. The battery of my previous power drill purchased years ago went dead and a replacement battery was just too expensive (cost almost as much as the drill), so I had to junk it. I wanted a Li-Ion battery (this one comes with 2 Li-Ion batteries) as they seem most reliable without the memory problems of NiCads. Li-Ion you can charge whenever without worries (just don’t leave them plugged in unnecessarily. I used this Dewalt drill on a large fence: the drill is reasonably light-weight (NiCad batteries are heavy but Li-Ion are much lighter), did the job (over 3 days off-and-on) on the same battery, and it recharged in 40 minutes (I timed it) with a charger & a red light that goes from blinking to steady on when charged (the charger’s blinking light will also tell if there are line problems by blinking differently). It has a decent rugged carrying case. My plan is to only charge 1 battery since I don’t use a drill that often, and perhaps 5 years in the future when this battery wears out, then I will charge the 2nd battery and start using that. The chuck held the bit reliably (NOTE: per instructions, you have to tighten the chuck when the chuck rotation is locked in the mid-position). It comes with 2 additional double-ended bits. I intend to have this drill around for a long time. I still have 2 previous drills with power cords, 1 from my wife’s father (REAL OLD!), and they’ve lasted forever and very reliable but I wanted a portable one this time.

Great drill, great power

Very happy with this drill, its power, duration, range. This is a 4.5 star review, and not 5 stars, because the case is a little cheap-feeling and doesn’t actually hold all the pieces in place very well. I have a Bosch which came with a really nice form-fitted case that held every piece well.
