Powerful Handy Drill
Amazing drill – exceeds all expectations. I also purchased the Bosch 18 volt adjustable hand drill. I wanted this one to get into tighter areas and have a spare drill for countersinking without changing bits. The slim Lithium battery it comes with is great and the new 4.0 high capacity option is fantastic. Long time power that maintains constant torque levels through the battery down side. These new Bosch 18V drills are the best on the market. The chuck is precise and you have to torque it down to maintain bit control – so go ahead and crank it with your heavy hand pressure and it works well. The variable speed is very handy and precise. The chuck brake is spot on upon release – a real plus. I got tired of my old Makita’s losing power and failed batteries – these new Bosch tools are a cut above the rest. The charger works with the slim and 4.0 high capacity batteries with the latter being much heavier on the tool – but nice for additional time on the job. I would recommend getting a set of higher capacity batteries for longer life when you need it – they are worth it.
Great drill, powerful
Using this to drill sheet metal and wood, and it works great. Lots of power. I have a Bosch system, so it was a no-brainer to purchase this particular one, and if you are looking at this you probably do too (most people won’t purchase this as their first cordless tool). All the Bosch 18V is powerful.
Fit right in
I am a remodeler and have needed an angle drill for a while. I have the 18 v Bosch lithium drill and impact set so this tool fit right in. I was skeptical that this tool might not be heavy duty enough for construction projects but my fears were relieved when I first opened the box. The first thing I noticed was the tools weight. This thing is solid, like holding a bar bell. Withe the new 4 amp 18 v batteries it has plenty of long lasting power. I used it right out of the box for a tight cabinet job and it saved the day. I wish it had a clutched chuck however. Other than that a great tool.
Best Right Angle Drill Around–And It’s a 1/2" Chuck!
I cannot say enough good things about this driver. It is the only driver made (that I know of of) that has a 1/2″ right angle chuck. That makes it a very unique item.
No Low Gear
Nice drill. But in case it is not mentioned or you failed to read about it like I did – this is not a two speed drill. Yes it is variable speed but it does not have the slow speed gear setting (0-400) of the typical Bosch 18V drills. I have yet to see how it does on a large bit – but I will find out soon enough. It’s a nice drill otherwise.
No substitute when space is tight
Awesome tool with surprising power. I bought it for a specific project but it’s become a go-to-tool even when the angle is not necessary. Enough power to drive a 5″ hole saw through framing lumber and Advantech flooring. Really nice ergonomics and smooth operation. Very heavy at the chuck end, but still well balanced. Wish I had this tool 2 years ago when I started buying Bosch 18 volt tools.

Put it in use the same day it arrived. Used it installing cabinets and counter tops, & drilling through walls to install outside spigots. Also used it to drill the tongue on 3/4″ thick kiln dried hardwood flooring for the last foot which I normally hand drive. The battery lasted, and it made quick work of all of it. I have several Bosch 12-Volt tools and had previously used Hitachi 18-Volt cordless. I thought I would try this and I wasn’t disappointed. As I replace my 18-Volt Hitachi I will switch to 18-Volt Bosch. Ironically though, as I have been replacing corded tools such as saws, hammer drills, etc I have been replacing them with Hitachi and have loved them.

The drill motor is nice but a bit heavy and especially heavy nearer the battery. But works great for those narrow areas where a larger motor will not fit. Also, the light comes on with a light trigger touch, before pressing all the way to get the motor to start, and the light is actually below the work area. It seems to have good torque. There’s not a switch to go between 1 & 2 for drilling or putting in screws; only one speed.
Its a Bosch and worth the money, works great!
Awesome right angle drill, it is beefy strong and gets the job done. I own the Bosch 1/2 cordless impact so this made sense the batteries are all interchangeable between my Bosch tools. Came in a nice canvas type zipper bag that is padded. Works well for those tight spots it is reversible and has a locking chuck so you can tighten and loosen the chuck by hand.
Great drill. Great chuck and LED light
This is a great right angle drill. It comes with a smaller sized battery but the battery charge lasts a long time. Plus you can get a larger battery if you want to. The auto-locking chuck is a nice feature. To change bits you simply twist the chuck with your hand and the motor locks automatically so it doesn’t turn as you tighten or loosen. The drill has an LED light that illuminates your work as soon as you pull the trigger slightly. In a pinch I’ve used it as a flashlight. Overall I’m very impressed with this drill
