No Variable Speed

I didn’t realize how much I would miss having variable speed before I got this cordless. It works fine for around the house but you better make sure your screwdriver head is firmly placed in the slots (screw head) or it will pop out and scratch the surface of what your working on.
NOT a two-speed drill

This is a reasonably O.K. tool for small DRILLING tasks but not good for tightening/installing screws. It is 550 RPM which is not really good for drilling and too fast for installing screws. The “specifications” in the list are wrong (I bought the product, contacted B&D and everything is confirmed.
Great Intro to the world of power tools

I’ve got to admit that I’ve always been afraid of power tools because I wasn’t sure that I could control them. As a woman, I’m probably average, i.e. average hands, average strength. For the last 20 years, I’ve been comfortable using “non-power” tools including a little hand-crank drill, etc. But I wanted to try to learn using power tools because if you master them, you can work more quickly.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my DeWalt 18-volt drill with all my heart but oftentimes it is major overkill. I was intrigued when offered the opportunity to try out a smaller cordless drill that touted a long lasting charge on the battery. After charging it complete, I went around trying to find places I could use it and found it up to the task for any quick job around the house. I did discover (the hard way) it is not a variable speed drill and if you do not keep it steady and firm, it can jump out and potentially cause you to mar up the wall or item you are working on. I played with the torque settings and found them to be sufficent for the tasks I tried. I really love the smaller and lighter form factor and the fact this drill fits in any of my desk or kitchen drawers unlike my heavy duty favorite mentioned above. I fully charged it several weeks ago and played with it for a couple of hours since and it is still going strong. It definitely is not a replacement for heavy duty jobs but for quick indoor work, it is terrific.
Great little all purpose driver/drill for around the house

I purchased this drill (actually at Walmart for the same price as here) a few months ago specifically for my guitar pick jewelry business. I needed something that was small and lightweight that would hold a charge for a long time. Well, this little drill fulfills all of that and more! And for those that talk about it not being “variable speed”…it has torque settings and for setting screws, you pull the torque back so that you don’t strip out your bit or the screw head. The highest setting is specifically for drilling, not for setting screws.
waste of money

I used this couple of times in the house for small jobs.
Only one speed

First time buying a drill and didn’t realize how important it is to have variable speeds. Live and learn. However I have to say that the size and feel are GREAT. So what I did is bought another one pretty much exactly like it in size and shape, even from the same company, but it simply has variable speeds. For 15 bucks more it was worth it.
Fantastic utility for the money

I was absolutely shocked by how good this cheap little drill is. I bought it because of the price alone to have something I can leave permanently in our motorhome for all those jobs that come up. I would have been satisfied with something 1/4 as good.
Do not buy.
