And because it includes a helpful stud finder that locates studs through walls with a thickness measuring up to 3/4 inch, you’ll be able to get all your wall mounting jobs done fast. Powered by a 18-volt battery (included, along with charger), the GCO18SFB quickly and easily drills holes in and drives screw through wood, metal, plastic. Match the correct speed from zero to 750 RPM to each project with the variable speed/reversing trigger, and rely on a built-in magnetic bit holder (with a capacity of six one-inch drill bits) to keep everything you need at your fingertips. Very good drill, Lousy charger.

I purchased two of these for a DIY construction project (building a small cabin). A friend had a similar B&D that I have used previously and based on that experience, figured this was a great deal. After heavy use of both drills over the past few months, I’m fairly satisfied with the purchase.

Batteries are low capacity and drill is weak, but still good deal for the price

I bought this item for the total package. I already have firestorm drill with dual speeds and a removable chuck. It is a fantastic drill, but the batteries gave up the ghost long ago. After a lot of research I purchased another battery from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-HPB18-OPE-18-Volt-Cordless/dp/B000VL603Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394834644&sr=8-1&keywords=18v+firestorm+battery). This batter has been great, but it is $30 on its own. After completing a recent project, I realized I needed another drill and figured another battery couldn’t hurt. When I saw this item for $50 with 2 batteries I figured I couldn’t go wrong.

Decent for around the house, but not heavy-duty. Look for it on sale.

This is a decent around-the-house cordless drill, but this is not a heavy-duty construction tool.

A great medium duty cordless drill

I waited a while to review this drill, since I wanted to run it through some hoops before rating it. My 30 year old Panasonic that I loved finally died and I went looking for a replacement. Although not as compact, this B&D is perfect for my needs, both for small detailed work and heavier projects such as drilling holes in masonry. The battery holds up for much longer than I expected and provides power for most projects around the house and car.

This drill does not have a high amount of power but it is good for small tasks like wall mounting and screwing

Works well, has a fairly long charge time if just used occasionally. This drill does not have a high amount of power but it is good for small tasks like wall mounting and screwing. Currently this is the drill I have tossed in the trunk of my car so I always have a cordless drill on me. I would not recommend this as a primary drill for someone who actually drills a lot or is a craftsman, buy an expensive Makita, it’s worth it. As a backup or secondary drill this little one is satisfactory though. It’s the type of drill I’d give to a family member that doesn’t need anything exceptionally high powered or durable.

Good drill for a low price

I bought this drill because of the price and because of the performance of the Black & Decker drill I currently have. Also, it’s a little lighter in weight than my current one. The fact that it includes two batteries also was a major factor in my decision.

A perfect match for what I needed.

When Home Depot has removed Black and Decker from it’s shelves I was angry as I have bought many attachments and batteries for other Black and Decker products which share the same 18V batteries. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see how the drill has a direct plugin to A/C via adapter. The drill is also more compact and lighter in weight than a previous model I purchased. I bought this to assist with a project of putting up shelves in my new storage shed which are made of 2×4 and assembled completely with 4″ screws. A perfect match for what I needed.

Drill has great battery.

This drill works quite well, but the thing I like the best is that its battery will hold a charge. Another drill – different brand – would charge up nicely and work for some time, but when left sitting, the battery would lose its charge, making it necessary to recharge it before nearly every use. This Black and Decker’s battery holds its charge quite well. I fully charged it when I rec’d it in early December 2017, and as of 9 January 2018, it still holds an adequate charge and can be used right away.
